This fall, I was lucky enough to have dinner with booksellers and other children’s book advocates in Chicago. After dinner, a lovely woman named Rose set up a camera and asked me to give my very first Maybe a Mermaid interview! Here I am, talking about my book (and, yes, I’ll admit it, I was super nervous).

Thanks to Jessica at Just Another Teen Reading Books for posting my very first blog interview about Maybe a Mermaid! She asked all the good questions like, “Why Middle Grade?” and “Do you listen to music while you write” (spoiler alert: Never!). We also got to chat about 2019 books I’m looking forward to…there are so many! This interview was part of a week-long series of interviews with 2019 debut authors.
